What’s Hot

NADA Art Fair 2008 – December 3 - 7
Art Basel Miami Beach is coming to town December 4-7, 2008. That means that a host of fabulous satellite shows are also setting up shop. The New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) will feature emerging art galleries from 19 countries. The setting for NADA is as splendid as the art – the Ice Palace is a unique exhibition space with gardens and vast sound stages in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District. Fair-goers can soak in the whole artsy atmosphere while browsing contemporary works in a variety of media. The fair is free and open to the public from Wednesday, December 3rd to Sunday, December 7th, 2008. Shuttle service will be available from South Beach to the Ice Palace for the duration of the fair and the Opening Night Preview. For schedules and maps for all of Art Basel’s satellite shows, visit http://www.artcircuits.com/.

Dining Divinely...

Chef Allen’s
Chef Alen Susser is a longtime star of New Miami cuisine. At his signature restaurant in Aventura, he has been turning out delicious dishes using tropical fruits combined with savory elements whose taste combinations always leave you hungering for more. The restaurant has recently been revamped, with updated artwork, stained concrete floors and menu tweaks that include a greater emphasis on seafood. Carnivores won’t go hungry by any means, but dishes like Shrimp-and-Grits Brulee and Lobster Mac and Cheese offer the same caress of the tastebuds that has earned Chef Allen’s its continuing reputation as one of Miami’s premier restaurants.

Mary Brickell Village at Night...

Blue Martini
If you’re headed to Downtown Miami for a nightlife excursion, get the evening started at Blue Martini. This hip second-floor lounge in the heart of Mary Brickell Village offers 25 inspired Martinis, a high-energy atmosphere and live music on weekends. Here are two to whet your appetite: The Pomegranate (Absolut Ruby Red vodka, Pama pomegranate liqueur, Citronge, and a splash of cranberry and soda); and Three Chocolates (Three Olives Chocolate Vodka, Cream and Godiva Chocolate Liqueur served in a White Chocolate swirled Martini glass). A tapas-style menu includes yummy plates such as Sliced Beef Tenderloin, Miniature Lamb Chops, Bruschetta and Lobster Tacos. Handy tip: The Metromover stop is Tenth Street Station.
