Botero in the Gardens – Now through May 31
A sculpture exhibition of ten bronze works by Latin American master Fernando Botero are currently being displayed at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. The artist’s signature pieces portray rotund figures with exaggerated proportions ranging in size of up to 15 feet high, including some of the artist’s most celebrated pieces. Along with Botero at Fairchild, the Tropical Garden is displaying monumental sculptures by Pop artist Roy Lichtenstein and works by glass artist Dale Chihuly, through May 31, 2008. 2008 Heineken Transatlantic Music Festival
Each year, the Rhythm Foundation puts together a spectacular array of world music artists at various venues throughout Miami Dade County. Highlights of this year’s Heineken Transatlantic Music Festival include:
April 26 - Rootz Underground and Babylon Circus, at the North Beach Bandshell on Miami Beach
May 3 - The Pinker Tones, at the North Beach Bandshell on Miami Beach
May 4 - Zakir Hussain and the Masters of Percussion, at Manuel Artime Theater Little Havana

Clyde Butcher Gallery in Coconut Grove
Famed Everglades photographer Clyde Butcher has just opened a gallery in Coconut Grove. Butcher is known for his panoramic black and white photographs which capture the majesty and mystery of Everglades flora and fauna. The opening exhibition, “Nature’s Place of Spiritual Sanctuary”, runs through May 14th.
