Listen up…

Tonight, catch a special performance by the all-female drumming and dance ensemble, Venus Rising. The group employs drum calls, special music arrangements and dance. The concert is part of Books & Books' popular Music in the Courtyard series. Grab a bite in the cafe or enjoy a glass of wine while you listen to the drum beats. Venus Rising performs live in the courtyard at Books & Books, 265 Aragon Avenue, in Coral Gables. 7 to 8 p.m. Free.

Taste Test

Great Taste of the Grove – Jan. 12-13
Get ready for a feast of small bites featuring Coconut Grove’s favorite restaurants and cafes, including Cefalo’s, Bice, Bouchon du Grove, Ginger Grove and many more. Live jazz and children’s activities entertain at this free event, which takes place at Peacock Park, 2820 McFarlane Rd., in Downtown Coconut Grove. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Cleveland Orchestra Family Concert - Jan. 27
Bring the kids - but sorry, not the dog - to this special concert for young people on January 27, 2008 at the Carnival Center for the Performing Arts. The Cleveland Orchestra will perform a concert titled "The Mozart Experience". The show also includes skits by the nationally acclaimed Magic Circle Mime Company and debut solos by talented young musical artists from Miami-Dade County.
