Close Encounter of the Lemur Kind...

Lemur Experience at Jungle Island
Baby lemurs from Madagascar are the latest furry attraction at Jungle Island! Visitors can interact with the gold-eyed primates during the Lemur Encounter, which includes a 45-minute educational session and a chance to play with and hold the charming little rascals. Maximum of three people, the cost is $45 per person, for a single person the cost is $60. Please note: Children under 6 years of age are not allowed, for safety reasons.

  • One of the most important food sources for lemurs is the Tamarind tree.

  • Lemurs use their sense of smell to communicate with each other.

  • Females socially dominate males in all circumstances, including feeding priority.
