Local Colors

If you’re swinging through town this week and wondering where you can buy a fabulous piece of artwork to hang on your wall and warm your spirits -- well, look no further. Miami is home to many terrific galleries that focus on Latin American and Caribbean artwork. Here are a few of my favorite spots for tropically inspired paintings, sculpture, jewelry and more.

This week’s must-go for art lovers: Art Miami, a smorgasbord of modern and contemporary art from around the world happening January 6 – 9 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. And MOCA's new annex, MOCA at Goldman Warehouse, offers an array of compelling contemporary works. It’s located in the Wynwood Arts District, just south of the Miami Design District.
